UF Students, Faculty, Staff to Complete 125 Hours of Service
Friday, April 06, 2007
Students, faculty and staff at The University of Findlay will begin an effort to complete 125 hours of service at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 14, with volunteers working at the CHOPIN Hall mobile food pantry at First Presbyterian Church; participating in river clean-up; and raising awareness of homelessness at Box City on the UF campus.
The effort will end at 4:15 p.m. Friday, April 20, when the final Washington Intermediate School student is dropped off at home by his Walking School Bus “driver.”
The 125-hour event was planned in recognition of the University’s 125th anniversary and was organized by Campus Compact and UF’s First-Year Experience program.
Additional activities will include spring cleaning at CHOPIN Hall, sorting food at the Salvation Army, baking cookies for people who deserve an extra “thanks,” and more. The United Way Days of Caring also will be incorporated into the 125 hours of service.
For additional information and to find out how to participate, contact Crystal Jones, Campus Compact coordinator, at 419-434-6617 or cjones@findlay.edu.
