UF Alumnus to Speak About the Future of IT
Tuesday, April 17, 2007
The University of Findlay’s College of Sciences will present a 125th anniversary lecture and reception at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Alumni Memorial Union North Multipurpose Room.
Guest speaker John Farhat ’90 will present “Of Constants, Deltas and Irrelevance: A Road Map for the Next 125 Years.” In his lecture, Farhat will talk of living in a world on the brink of major global commercial and economic shifts, as well as the possibility of the world being transformed rapidly while information technology (IT) becomes irrelevant. His discussion is a reflection upon the information industry, its future, its relevance and irrelevance, constants that continue to matter, the role of education and the bold new world.
Farhat holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science, mathematics and systems analysis, as well as a master’s degree in computer science. He is the president and CEO of the Technology Group, a consulting and outsourcing service company. Recently, he launched and now manages InterpreterAccess.com, a community effort funded by the Columbus Medical Association Foundation, which provides centralized access to multiple sources of medical-based interpreter services.
This event is hosted by the mathematics, computer science and technology management programs within the College of Sciences. UF students, faculty and staff, as well as alumni and the community are welcome to attend this free lecture and reception.
