Thursday, April 19, 2007

The University of Findlay will host a health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU). This event is open to the community. All screenings and information are free with the exception of cholesterol screening, which is $5 and conducted by Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

In addition to having cholesterol checked, attendees can have their hearing, blood sugar, vision and blood pressure checked as well. The Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy will be on site to offer a few minutes of quick muscle relief, and staff from The University of Findlay will offer information on fitness.

Other exhibitors of interest include the Lupus Foundation of America Inc. Northwest Ohio chapter, Sleep Clinic, Women’s Resource Center, Coalition for a Smoke-Free Findlay and students from the University’s psychology program, School of Pharmacy and occupational therapy program.

There also will be a nutritional food court in the AMU South Multipurpose Room where all are welcome to pick up healthy recipes, watch cooking demonstrations and sample healthy food.

The first 150 people will receive free coffee drinks from George House.
