UF Jazz Bands to Perform April 29

The University of Findlay Oiler Jazz and University Jazz bands will host a spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary auditorium.
Bistro-style seating and refreshments will add to attendees’ enjoyment of the performance, which will include a mix of familiar Big Band works as well as more recent jazz selections. Among the selections are “September,” “Apple Honey,” “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat,” “Jump, Jive and Wail” and “Zoot Suit Riot.”
Senior pre-veterinary major Brittany Hollandsworth will be featured on the alto saxophone during “When Sunny Gets Blue.” Senior nuclear medicine major Zach Steiner will be featured on the drum set in “Arranco.”
The bands are directed by professors of music Norm Damschroder and Jack Taylor.
The concert is open to the public and tickets may be obtained by contacting the campus box office at 419-434-5335. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens.
