Symposium at UF to Highlight Academic Excellence, Student Achievements, Alumni

The University of Findlay’s Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity will take place April 17 throughout campus. Highlights of the afternoon include student academic presentations, student awards and alumni speakers. Following is a schedule of afternoon activities:

• 12:15 p.m. – Welcome and University awards ceremony, Alumni Memorial Union (AMU) Multipurpose Room, with speakers DeBow Freed, Ph.D., president; Daniel May, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs; and senior Diana Musgrave, communication major.

• 1:15 p.m. – Theatre presentation, excerpts from “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” in Grimm Theatre.

• 1:15 p.m. – Student presentations session A.

• 1:15 p.m. – College of Business awards presentations and alumnus speaker Michael Mallett ’88, owner and CEO of Corporate Research International, AMU Multipurpose Room.

• 1:15 p.m. – College of Education awards presentations and alumni panel including George Tuttle ’36, Tom Reynolds ’59 and Allison Budde ’04, Winebrenner Seminary.

• 1:45 p.m. – Student presentations session B.

• 2:15 p.m. – College of Sciences awards presentations and alumnus speaker Thomas Czartowski ’93, Winebrenner Seminary.

• 2:15 p.m. – College of Health Professions awards presentations and alumnus speaker Tony Marini ’93, nuclear medicine technologist, AMU Multipurpose Room.

• 2:15 p.m. – Student presentations session C.

• 2:15 p.m. – Theatre presentation, excerpts from “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” in Grimm Theatre.

• 2:45 p.m. – Student presentations session D.

• 3:15 p.m. – College of Liberal Arts awards presentations and alumnus speaker Ryan Shively ’93, with a number of Broadway and off-Broadway credits to his name, AMU Multipurpose Room.

• 3:15 p.m. – Student presentations session E.

• 3:45 p.m. – Student presentations session F.

• 4:10 p.m. – Student presentations session G.

• 4:30 p.m. – The afternoon will conclude with a reception featuring the University Singers and a grand prize drawing for a new laptop computer. Only UF students are eligible to enter the drawing.
