William and Marilyn Nonnamaker help Hancock County grads attend UF.

A generous gift from William and Marilyn Nonnamaker to the William and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University of Findlay will enable two Hancock County high school graduates to receive financial assistance. Previously, one student received assistance from the fund to attend the University. In 1986, William Nonnamaker, a 1953 Findlay College graduate, and his wife, Marilyn, established the William and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship Endowment Fund at then Findlay College. The couple made the additional contribution this year in honor of the University’s 125th anniversary. Two types of students may apply for one of the two scholarships. For one of the awards, the scholarship applicant must be an incoming freshman who graduated from a Hancock County high school, ranked in the upper one-third of his or her graduating high school class, and demonstrates financial need. Or, the scholarship applicant must be a Hancock County high school graduate, have attained sophomore, junior or senior academic status at The University of Findlay and have achieved at least a 3.2 grade point average.
