UF to Host Leadership Symposium Aug. 10
Monday, July 23, 2007

The University of Findlay, in recognition of its 125th anniversary, will host the third annual leadership symposium, “Resilience: A Leadership Imperative,” on Friday, Aug. 10, in Winebrenner Theological Seminary Convocation Center, in collaboration with the Hancock Leadership Alumni Association.

Whether you are a business leader concerned about corporate sabotage, natural disasters, or workplace violence; a healthcare provider charged with preparing for the next outbreak; or an educator responsible for identifying and assisting those in crisis; the ability to respond quickly, decisively and effectively to unforeseen and unpredictable forces is now a leadership imperative. This leadership ability and resilience will be the focus of the symposium.

Symposium attendees will have the opportunity to network with other business and community leaders while attending workshops that foster thought and creativity. Experts in the fields of leadership, communication and diversity will share their knowledge with symposium attendees during keynote addresses as well as concurrent breakout sessions.

Symposium presenters will include William A. Guillory, Ph.D., president of Innovations International Inc.; James M. Harder, Ph.D., president of Bluffton University; William J. Doyle, Ph.D., assistant professor at The University of Findlay; James Smith, NASA Glenn Research Center; John Malacos, Ph.D., associate professor at The University of Findlay; Lynn Child, CEO of Aardvark and CentraComm; Loren Wagner, global IT infrastructure manager at Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.; and Linda Casey, communications managers at Marathon Petroleum LLC.

The cost to attend the symposium is $125 per person. Groups of four or more from the same company will receive a discounted rate of $99 per person (registrations must be submitted together). Symposium registration deadline is Aug. 4, 2007. Registration forms are available online at www.hancockleadershipalumni.com.
