UF to Hold Memorial Service for Professor Greenwood

The University of Findlay will hold a memorial service for the late James Greenwood, associate professor of communication, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in Ritz Auditorium, on the second floor of Old Main.

Professor Greenwood, 60, died at his home over the Memorial Day weekend. He had been a professor at the University since 1981, and had served as chair of the Division of Fine Arts, a position he held for 12 years, and had taught courses in public speaking, broadcasting and debate.

Professor Greenwood had served as adviser to the campus radio station, WLFC-FM, for more than a decade, and was currently serving as adviser to Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honorary society. He also served as parliamentarian for the Faculty Senate, Graduate Council and the University’s College of Liberal Arts.

He had authored or co-authored several articles in scholarly journals, including “Protest Against Racism” in Rhetoric of the People, and “The Legal Setting of Attic Oratory” in the Central States Speech Journal.
