The Toledo Symphony Orchestra to Perform at UF Sept. 14

The Toledo Symphony Orchestra will begin The University of Findlay’s 2007-2008 Concert and Lecture Series at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, in Winebrenner Theological Seminary.

Maestro Chelsea Tipton II will conduct the Pops concert. Selections include numbers from “Babes in Arms,” “The King and I,” “Carousel,” “My Fair Lady,” “Cats,” “West Side Story,” “The Producers,” “Miss Saigon,” “Les Miserables” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Vocalists Fenlon Lamb, mezzo-soprano and Timothy Shew, tenor, will accompany the instrumental music.

Underwriters for the evening include Dr. Richard and Linda Beckett and Dr. Richard White and Jennifer Payne-White, and sponsors are Dr. Charles and Mariann Younger.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $10 for students.
Admission for UF undergraduate and graduate students is free, but a ticket is required. UF faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $15.

Future performances in the Concert and Lecture Series include The Toledo Opera at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, and The Toledo Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.
