Family Weekend Sept. 28-29; Equestrian Festival Saturday

The University of Findlay will host Family Weekend Sept. 28-29, bringing more than 500 people to campus and the surrounding community. Families will attend class with students, take a tour of the City of Findlay, enjoy a bonfire, attend a festival at the English equestrian farm and cheer on the Oilers at the football game versus Indianapolis on Saturday. Community members are welcome to attend the Family Equestrian Festival and Mini-Jumping Prix on Saturday at the James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex, located at 11178 Co. Rd. 201, Findlay. The festival is part of the English equestrian farm’s 15th anniversary celebration. The $1,500 Mini-Jumping Prix begins at 10 a.m. and will continue through late afternoon. The competition will include UF alumni as well as other competitors. In addition to the show, spectators will enjoy a western riding demonstration, agility dog performance and a drill team ride. Other activities include pony rides, face painting and hay rides beginning at noon. Bleacher seating is available. The Mini-Jumping Prix is free and open to the community. Immediately following the competition will be a Denim and Diamonds dinner-dance, as well as a silent auction. Tickets are $30. Contact 419-434-4859 to purchase tickets or for additional information.
