The University of Findlay’s student newspaper, The Pulse, is now available online at
www.findlay.edu/pulse, or at www.findlay.edu, Keyword: Pulse. Readers may subscribe to the newspaper, which will be delivered electronically every Wednesday The Pulse is published — one day before the print edition hits the racks.
“This is not really a brand-new thing for The Pulse. We’ve had an online presence before,” said Chris Underation, faculty adviser for the newspaper. “But this is a different thing for the paper because we plan to have some Web-only content and maybe some other bells and whistles in time.”
The move toward the new online presence began last fall. UF’s Levi Perkins, multimedia specialist, and Joe Ciraldo, Web applications developer, helped design and build the new site.
“This is a nice little Web site because readers will have the ability to view past Pulse issues back to 2000, and recent alumni have the option to see Pulse issues from when they were a student,” said Ciraldo.
The online version also will offer breaking news, and the complete archive gives readers easy access to UF history. For readers who prefer a printed version, the new site allows the current issue — and all archived issues — to be downloaded to a computer desktop and printed. In addition, readers may submit letters or news tips online.
A weekly staff editorial, cartoon and certain other content will remain in the print version only.
