Photographer Jeff Salisbury in the Lea Gallery
|
“Bits and Pieces” is on display in The University of Findlay’s Lea Gallery, located in the Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, through Friday, Sept. 21.
The photographic art of Jeff L. Salisbury, commercial photographer and lecturer of photography at UF, will be on display Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
He has taught for seven years at The University of Findlay.
According to Salisbury, photography has been an important part of his life since he was 16 years old and his father gave him an Argus C3 camera. In 1973, Salisbury opened a commercial photography studio, Jeff Salisbury Photo Illustration, and has spent subsequent years exploring photography as a form of art. “Photographs are art, and the way we see art is not really with our eyes but with our minds,” he said.
Salisbury received a bachelor of science degree from Morehead State University, Morehead, Ky. He resides in Van Buren, Ohio, with his wife, Diana, and they have three children: Lee, Audra and Colin. Salisbury is active in the community as a board member of Van Buren Local Schools, substitute teacher, bus driver, soccer coach and “noodle cooker” at the Van Buren Music Boosters’ food tent at the Hancock County Fair.
