Six to be Inducted Into UF Athletic Hall of Fame

The University of Findlay will host the 34th Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Alumni Memorial Union.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-12. Contact the UF athletic office at 419-434-4663 for additional information and to reserve your tickets.

Inductees this year include Lisa (Hallock) Evans ’93 of Perrysburg, Bo Hurley ’96, M ’98, of Centerville, Ronald Lucy ’95, M ’97, of Dublin, Martin Parrill ’73 of Oceanside, Calif., Nicole (Clever) Ralston ’95 of Lewis Center and Jim Ryan ’80 of Olmstead Falls.

 Lisa Evans
 Lisa (Hallock) Evans '93
Between 1989 and 1993, track star Evans earned honors as an NAIA All-American in three events, two relays and the 1,000-yard run. She qualified for the NAIA National Championships 10 times during her career – twice in cross country, four times in indoor track and four times in outdoor track. She also was a three-time NAIA National Scholar Athlete and led her team to three straight NAIA District 22 championships. In 1993, Evans received the Mancuso Trophy as the top female student-athlete at UF. Evans resides in Perrysburg with her son.

 Bo Hurley
 Bo Hurley '96, M '98
Hurley starred on the UF football team as a four-year starting quarterback who led his teams to a career record of 41-3-1 and two NAIA National titles in 1995 and 1997. He was voted offensive MVP for four years by his teammates, and he currently holds 10 school records including TD passes and career yardage. In 1997, he was named to the First Team NAIA All-American Team and also as the Rawlings NAIA National Player of the Year. In addition, Hurley was a three-time Academic All-American. Currently, he resides in Centerville with his wife, Courtney, and two daughters.

 Ron Lucy
 Ronald Lucy '95, M '97
Lucy was an Oiler “Roughneck” under coach John Jeffire and helped to capture the NAIA National Team Championship in 1995. A consistent wrestler, Lucy holds three school records – all-time wins (123), career take-downs (425) and take-downs in a season (129) – which resulted in four NAIA National Championship wins. He took sixth place in 1992, fifth place in 1993, third place in 1994 and national runner-up in 1995. As a three-year captain of the team, he was awarded the Mancuso Trophy as the top male student-athlete at UF in 1995 and was named a GTE Academic All-American. Lucy resides in Dublin with his wife, Amanda, and four children.

 Martin Parrill
 Martin Parrill '73
Parrill arrived at Findlay College as a dual-sport athlete in baseball and basketball, but he is most remembered for his success on the baseball diamond. He was a four-year starter at shortstop and third base for coach Homer Shadle and helped lead his teams to three NAIA Mid-Ohio Conference titles. Parrill led the Oilers in batting average, RBIs, slugging percentage and home runs. In 1973, he was selected in the 18th round of the baseball draft by the Baltimore Orioles where he had a productive professional career through 1978, moving up to the AAA level. In 1976, he received the AA League MVP award for his outstanding season. Parrill resides in Oceanside, Calif., with his wife, Dana. They have two children.

 Nicole Ralston
 Nicole (Clever) Ralston '95
Ralston was a standout women’s basketball player, leading her team to a three-year record of 83-12 and three consecutive NAIA National tournament appearances, which were the first in school history. The 1994-95 team holds nine school records including 32 wins that season and a Sweet 16 finish. Ralston is the fourth all-time leading scorer (1,331 points), and holds the school record for steals in a game (8). She was named to the NAIA All-American Second Team her junior year, and during her senior year became the first UF women’s basketball player to be named to the NAIA All-American First Team. She also was named to the Kodak All-American team and was an NAIA and GTE Academic All-American. Ralston resides in Lewis Center, Ohio, with her son.

 Jim Ryan
 Jim Ryan '80
A dual-sport athlete in baseball and football, Ryan succeeded in both sports, earning a three-year football letter and a four-year baseball letter. As a linebacker, Ryan was an All-HBC and District 22 selection and the coaching staff named him Most Valuable Defensive Lineman. Ryan helped lead the Oilers to the 1979 NAIA football title. As a first and third baseman, Ryan received the Coaches Award for his baseball success. He graduated from Findlay and went on to successfully coach athletics at his high school alma mater, Olmstead Falls. Ryan resides in Olmstead Falls with his wife, Terry, and two children.
