Chucky C Concert to Air on UF-TV
Monday, October 15, 2007

Monday, Oct. 15, through Friday, Oct. 19, The University of Findlay will air a jazz concert on UF-TV, cable channel 20, featuring Chucky C and the Clearly Blue band, taped Sept. 17 on campus. Click here to read the news release announcing the concert.

The concert will air at 1 and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Chucky C is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. He lost his primary residence, located in the lower ninth ward, and his wife died from storm-related stress. He is re-building a home in the upper ninth ward and traveled to Findlay to raise awareness of the devastation that remains in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

The band also wanted to raise funds for local flood victims after hearing about the flooding in Findlay, and more than $500 in donations was collected from the crowd the evening of the concert. The majority of the money will be used for Hurricane Katrina recovery, and the rest was given to the Ohio Sheetrockers to help flood victims in Hancock, Putnam and Allen counties.

For additional information about the Ohio Sheetrockers, send an e-mail to ohiosheetrockers@verizon.net.

For those who would like to donate money to the Sheetrockers’ efforts to rebuild and help people in New Orleans, checks should be made payable to AUMC-Katrina Relief Fund and mailed to Arlington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 380, Arlington, OH, 45814.
