The
Toledo Opera will present “An Evening of Opera” at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Winebrenner Theological Seminary. The performance is the second in The University of Findlay’s 2007-2008 Concert and Lecture Series. The concert is underwritten and made possible, in part, through the generosity of George and Shirlee Whitson.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $10 for students. Admission for UF undergraduate and graduate students is free, but a ticket is required. UF faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $15. Tickets are available by calling the
Box Office at 419-434-5335.
Renay Conlin, general and artistic director, will guide nine vocalists and a pianist through selections of “
Carmen” by Georges Bizet, “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini and “Faust” by Charles Gounod.
The Toledo Opera is northwest Ohio’s only fully professional regional opera company. The Opera, in its 47th year, is recognized as one of the major cultural institutions in northwest Ohio.
Conlin’s vision for the Opera’s future combines growth in artistic excellence, a gradual increase in the Opera’s offerings to the public and continued enhancement of the quality of life in the region.
Future performances in UF’s Concert and Lecture series include the
Toledo Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008. The orchestra will perform classics during both concerts.
