Mazza Museum Receives Funding to Continue Funday Sundays
Wednesday, December 05, 2007

The Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture Books recently was awarded a three-year grant totaling $9,300 from the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation that will enable the museum to continue its family-friendly Funday Sundays.

Funds awarded will partially support the Funday Sunday Art Projects Coordinator stipend and participating artists’ stipends and art supplies. The funds are made available through the Philip D. Gardner Fund and Fifth Third Unrestricted Fund, both housed at the foundation.

Funday Sundays are interactive, family-friendly events offered once a month at the museum. Activities include storytelling, art stations, music, refreshments and special guests. Each month’s event is focused on a central theme.

“Funday Sundays bring children and their families together to enjoy literature and the arts,” said Ben Sapp, museum director. “It’s an interactive way to spark children’s interest and a fun way to get the whole family interested in literature and the arts.”
