Larry Turner, forensic science expert, will give a presentation from 9:30 until 11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at The University of Findlay in the Ritz Auditorium. Currently, Turner is the director of the forensic science program at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona and has worked in the field for more than 26 years, completing 200 forensic biology cases, 250 crime scene investigations and 200 drug analyses. Prior to his current position in Scottsdale, Turner held a management position with the Santa Clara County crime laboratory in San Jose, Calif., which is considered one of the top five crime laboratories in America. In addition, Turner was a director of the city of Jackson, Miss., crime laboratory; a senior criminalist with the City of San Diego, Calif.; and held various positions with the state of Mississippi crime laboratory. Turner has trained scientists, investigators, nurses and attorneys on the specifics of criminalistics and forensic science and has been seen on televisions programs such as “America’s Most Wanted,” “The FBI Files” and, most recently, “The New Detectives.” Turner’s presentation is organized by the Criminal Justice Club.
