UF Notifying Campus Community of Boil-Water Order
Thursday, February 07, 2008
Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay is notifying students, faculty and staff that the City of Findlay has issued a boil-water order at 1 p.m., just over one hour ago. The University is working to ensure a continuous supply of safe drinking water for the campus.
An alert posted at 1:45 p.m. by Mayor Pete Sehnert advised all those who drink water from the city water supply to boil water for one minute and allow it to cool, or to use bottled water for human consumption, including drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation. The order is in effect indefinitely.
The order stems from higher than normal turbidity (cloudiness) levels as a result of the flooding that struck the area beginning Wednesday. Those with questions may contact the city’s Emergency Call Center at 419-424-7000.
