UF to Host ADA Workshop

The University of Findlay’s Office of Disability Services will host a free workshop for all UF students, faculty and staff at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in Malcolm Dining Hall, located in the Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion.
“Envision the Abilities for People with Disabilities” will feature three speakers.
At 9 a.m., Clarence Williamson, blind since birth, will discuss using assistive technology in his daily life as well as earning a degree in computer technology.
At 10 a.m., UF graduate Tommy Chavana ’05, will describe his experience skydiving as a person that is a quadriplegic.
At 11 a.m., Jane E. Jarrow, Ph.D., will talk about compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the obligations of education and the community. Jarrow has established a reputation for being knowledgeable and articulate in understanding and presenting the issues of importance related to disability in the higher education arena.
