The University of Findlay Welcomes New Trustees

The University of Findlay welcomed new trustees Dwight Miller of Champaign, Ill.; C. Paul Palmer IV of Findlay, and George Showers of Alma, Mich., at its Board of Trustees meeting Feb. 7-8.

“The University is strong and progressing, and the Board’s new trustees bring a wealth of solid experience to the institution,” said Dr. C. Richard Beckett, board chairman. “Their contributions will benefit current and future students as we look toward a bright and promising future of the University.”
Miller owns and operates the seven McDonald’s restaurants in Champaign, Ill. He previously owned the McDonald’s franchises in St. Charles, Mo. Miller is active in the community and has served as chairman of the Champaign-Urbana Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from Findlay in 1973 with a major in accounting. Mr. Miller resides in Champaign with his wife, Alice, and their two children.
Palmer is executive vice president of National Lime and Stone Co. in Findlay. He graduated from Findlay High School, Ohio Wesleyan University and the Indiana University of Law. Prior to his move back to Findlay last year, Palmer was associate attorney for Sullivan and Cromwell LLP in New York. He and his wife, Sarah, reside in Findlay.
Showers is pastor of New Haven and Seville Community Churches of God in Elwell, Mich. He has been active in the Michigan Association of School Administrators, Michigan School Business Officials, and has served as chairman of the Montcalm Area Superintendants Association. Showers is a member of the board of trustees of Winebrenner Theological Seminary and is vice president for the Great Lakes Conference, Churches of God. He graduated from The University of Findlay in 1965 and holds an M.A. from Central Michigan University. He and his wife, Alice, reside in Alma, Mich. They have two children.
