Wednesday, February 13, 2008

The University of Findlay will participate in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) “Think Pink” campaign to fight breast cancer Thursday, Feb. 14, and Saturday, Feb. 16, when the Oilers take on Mercyhurst College and Gannon University. All fans who attend the games are encouraged to wear pink. Those who do wear pink will receive $2 off the admission price to the games. Fans who attend the games and donate money to help fight breast cancer will receive a free pink pom-pom. In addition, UF will donate its half of the 50/50 ticket drawing toward the cause.

The WBCA’s “Think Pink” initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The WBCA began “Think Pink” in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women’s basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort.
