21st Annual Mathematics Day Set for March 12

The University of Findlay will host the 21st Annual Mathematics Day Wednesday, March 12, in the Alumni Memorial Union.

Anyone is welcome to attend “Problems, Problems, Problems” at 10 a.m. and “Generalizing Problems” at 1 p.m.

Leo J. Schneider, Ph.D., will be the featured speaker for both presentations. Schneider teaches statistics, calculus, geometry, combinatorics and graph theory at John Carroll University. He received the 2004 Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America Award for Distinguished University Teacher of Mathematics and has served as president and governor of the Ohio Section. For two years, he taught civilian armory directors how to program and operate computer-controlled machine tools. Schneider received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics from Xavier University and a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
