ADA Speaker Scheduled for April 4

The University of Findlay’s Office of Disability Services will host a free workshop for all UF students, faculty and staff Friday, April 4, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU).

Jane E. Jarrow, Ph.D., will present “Improving Your Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act” at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Endly Room of the AMU. The 10 a.m. session is geared to students, faculty and staff. The 2 p.m. session is geared to faculty and staff. Each session will last one hour.

Jarrow has a reputation for being knowledgeable and articulate in understanding and presenting the issues of importance related to disability in the higher education arena. She is a prolific author and an acknowledged leader in the field.

Her professional involvement in this field spans almost 30 years and includes her tenure as the executive director of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).

Those who have turned to her for technical assistance or who have heard her speak have remarked on Jarrow’s comfortable presentation style, her down-to-earth approach to the subject, her ready availability and willingness to assist, and her ability to relate general legal principles to the specific situations encountered in the post-secondary setting.
