Spring Research Forum Scheduled for Thursday
Tuesday, April 08, 2008
The University of Findlay’s traditional physical therapy (PT) class of 2008, along with several athletic training students, will host a Spring Research Forum at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in the Alumni Memorial Union.
Student poster presentations begin at 4 p.m. in the multipurpose room. At 5 p.m. is a keynote presentation by Pamela Reynolds, PT, Ed.D., titled “Connecting Community to Interprofessional Health Education.” Reynolds is an associate professor in the physical therapy program at Gannon University in Erie, Pa., and has conducted considerable research in the area of service learning.
Between 6 and 7 p.m., several PT students will present their platform presentations.
The forum is held in conjunction with the Ohio Physical Therapy Association and provides an opportunity for students to present summaries of their scholarly activities to peers and to the community. It also provides a way to recognize the importance of research in physical therapy and athletic training. The forum provides a setting similar to regional and national professional meetings, allowing students to gain experience in the research and presentation portions of their chosen careers.
Community, faculty and students are invited to attend.
