Rachel Walter, assistant director of housing and residence life, congratulates Barrett “Bear” Brooks as he receives the Rising Star Award.

The Office of Student Activities and Commuter Student Services hosted “A Night Among the Stars” April 21 to honor student organizations and those involved in them.
    
Students who received awards include junior Lisa Hughes, senior Danielle Matson, junior Samantha Rigsby, senior David Springer and freshman Barrett “Bear” Brooks. Both Almar T. Walter, adviser to the Black Student Union, and Nabarun Ghose, D.B.A., adviser to the Indian Student Association, received a Student Organization Outstanding Adviser of the Year Award.
    
The Black Student Union received Model Social Student Organization Program of the Year for organizing Black Tie Affair. The Indian Student Association received Model Educational Student Organization Program of the Year for hosting Diwali Festival of Lights.
    
Keynote speaker was Brian Robertson of Findlay, who talked about his life experiences.
