Jackson Scholarship to Aid Pharmacy Students
Saturday, August 30, 2008

The University of Findlay recently announced the endowment of the Dana R. Jackson, R.Ph., D.Ph., Scholarship, made possible by Jackson, in honor of Donald W. Stansloski and as part of the University’s 125th anniversary celebration.

Jackson, a 1974 graduate of Ohio Northern University (ONU) College of Pharmacy, established the scholarship in honor of Stansloski, who served as assistant dean of ONU during Jackson’s attendance. Currently, Stansloski serves as UF’s first dean of the School of Pharmacy, a position he has held since 2004.

The recipient of the scholarship will be a pharmacy student in his or her fifth or sixth year and a resident of Hardin County, Ohio. The scholarship will provide funds to purchase books.

The goal of the endowed fund drive is to create 125 new endowed funds for student scholarship, faculty development and program support. As of the launch date, 44 new funds totaling approximately $2 million have been created.

A steering committee consisting of University alumni and friends has been organized to provide leadership during the drive. Members of the steering committee are:

•    A.R. ’66 and Mary Ann Charnes, national co-chairs
•    Dr. Robert Frampton, College of Health Professions
