UF Hosts Fort Pastor Band, Climate Expert, Comedian

The University of Findlay invites alumni and community members to attend several events on campus during Welcome Week, Aug. 25 through Aug. 29.
   
Fort Pastor band will host a U.S. Military letter-writing campaign from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU). The band will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 25 in the Cory Street Mall. The rain site is the AMU. This event is free.
   
Changing the earth’s climate will be the topic of discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the AMU. Dr. Todd H. Albert, an instructor of geography at Bowling Green State University, will speak. He has done research in the Italian Alps, the Colorado Rockies, the High Andes of Peru and the Greenland Ice Sheet. This event is free.
   
Comedian Buzz Sutherland will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, in the AMU. With a “clean” show, Sutherland was named Comedian of the Year by the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) five times, Entertainer of the Year by NACA, and Comedian of the Year four times and Performer of the Year twice by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities. He has performed on HBO’s Comic Relief and MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Show. Admission is $1 at the door.
