Bach’s Lunch Begins Sept. 12
Monday, September 08, 2008

The Bach’s Lunch series will begin Sept. 12 at The University of Findlay. Each month, a different performer in the local area is featured in the series. This season marks the 27th year of the series, making it the longest-running cultural series at UF.

The Harp and Flutes Trio will perform a variety of classical music at noon Friday, Sept. 12, in the Alumni Memorial Union. Performers in the trio include Jan Bishop on the harp, and Kim Cosiano and Cindy Strathman, both on the flute.

The purpose of the series is to give community members, faculty, staff and students an opportunity to enjoy fine music while enjoying lunch one Friday each academic month. The Bach’s Lunch series not only provides entertainment, but also gives local musicians a performance venue.

Performers in the area submit applications to perform in the series. The applications are screened and selected by Jack Taylor, UF professor of music and director of bands. Taylor was influential in starting the series and is happy that Bach’s Lunch has been so successful.
