Findlay to Host Great Lakes Region Business Educators

The University of Findlay will host area business educators at the ACBSP ( Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs) Great Lakes Council Region 4 Annual Conference Oct. 16-17. The topic of the conference is Curriculum for Growth: Improving Student Competencies. Two tracks will be offered: Best Practices for Teaching Excellence in Business Education Delivery and Best Practices for Teaching Excellence in Working within the Changing Global Business Environment. W. Paul Worstell, president of Pro-Tech Coating Co., will offer the keynote address Thursday evening. Worstell earned a master of business administration from UF. He is on the board of trustees of The Ohio Manufacturers Association, the Ohio Partnership for Excellence, the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Black Swamp Area Council Boy Scouts of America and GreaterFindlay Inc. Iris Cooper, director of entrepreneurship and small division for the State of Ohio, will give the keynote address Friday afternoon. Well known for her commitment to the Columbus community, Cooper has worked with many worthwhile causes including the Community Capital Development Corp., Strategies Against Violence Everywhere, the Child Development Council of Franklin County, the Columbus/Franklin County Port Financing Authority and others. She was honored as a YWCA Woman of Achievement and a Women of Economic and Leadership Development. Session presenters include representatives from The University of Findlay, University of Saint Francis, Tiffin University, Trine University, Owens Community College and Indiana University East. An ACBSP business meeting will be held Friday morning during the conference.
