The Multi-Hazard Planning for Schools course is designed for those who are responsible for planning and responding to school emergencies. Participants will learn to identify and assemble members of a planning team; identify the types of hazards that present the highest risk for schools; identify and mitigate structural and nonstructural hazards; and develop or revise an all-hazards emergency operations plan.

The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5-6 in the Croy Gymnasium, Room 216, located on the University’s campus.

The Emergency Planning and Special Needs Populations course is designed for those who are responsible for emergency planning or care of special needs groups. Participants will learn to identify appropriate resources to assist in planning for special needs populations; identify capabilities and limitations of the special needs network; describe the special needs considerations in all phases of comprehensive emergency management; and identify basic components of a special needs plan; among other things.

Both courses are free of charge; however, participants are responsible for costs associated with lodging, travel and meals.
