The University of Findlay will host leading executives from the business, financial and investment sectors during The University of Findlay Economic Summit, slated for Feb. 6, 2009, at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
A series of six hour-long discussion sessions will examine the foundations of the current economic crisis, how to stimulate the economy, emerging business opportunities and the impact of the crisis on today’s student, among other topics.
“The purpose of the UF Economic Summit is to allow our students, as well as other students and members of the greater Findlay community, to critically examine the financial issues of the day, as well as how these issues will impact their futures,” said Paul Sears, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business. “We believe the role of a University is to offer in-depth understanding and perspectives from the best and most informed minds available, to help shape our students’ thought processes and their future careers.”
Dennis Foster, a 1967 UF alumnus who is a former telecommunications executive and current business owner, investor and board director, organized the event and will serve as moderator and panelist during the summit. Among those serving as panelists are: • Paul LaCroix, partner, Deloitte & Touche • William Landes, senior managing director, Gottex Fund Management • Robert Skaggs, CEO, NiSource • Brent Whittington, executive vice president and CFO, Windstream Corp. • Tim Wicks, CFO, Yellow Roadway Corp.
