Annual Band Concert Slated for Dec. 7

The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present its annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music and director of bands, the combined bands will perform “Sounds of the Season,” featuring “Marche” from “The Nutcracker Suite,” “Skier’s Waltz” from the film “Cinerama Holiday,” “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson and others.
Heather Smith, senior math education major, will be the featured soloist. One of the winners of this year’s concerto competition, Smith will perform Movement I from Mozart’s “Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major for French Horn.”
Marie Louden-Hanes, Ph.D., dean of undergraduate education, will be the narrator for the program.
Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for non-UF students and senior citizens. Tickets may be reserved in advance from the UF Box Office, 419-434-5335, or purchased at the door.
