Beekman Wins Gold For Web Site Design

Anne Beekman, assistant professor of graphic design at The University of Findlay, has been awarded a 2008 MarCom Award in the Pro-Bono category. The Gold Overall Web Site award was given for Beekman’s design for the Murfreesboro Historical Association, Murfreesboro, N.C. The site is online at www.murfreesboronc.org. Beekman teaches courses in Web site design, graphic design and illustration. She holds an MFA from Marywood University and worked in publishing and advertising for 20 years as an art director, designer and illustrator. MarCom is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals. There were more than 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the 2008 competition. Winners were selected in media and communication efforts including marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service, creativity and electronic/interactive.
