The University of Findlay’s College of Education will host the Northwest Ohio Future Teachers Conference from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, on campus. This event is sponsored by The Northwest Ohio Center of Excellence and its partners BGSU-COSMOS, Lourdes College, Owens Community College, The University of Findlay and The University of Toledo.
Pre-service teachers and others who have an interest in education are invited to connect with future colleagues; explore classroom teaching and assessment strategies; and discover lesson plans, standards-aligned activities and resources. The conference will feature sessions and resources especially for pre-service teachers to smooth the pathway from college student to classroom teacher. Inservice teachers also will gain knowledge on new strategies or resources available to help create engaging lessons for students.

The keynote speaker, Salome Thomas-EL, author of “I Choose To Stay,” will present at 11 a.m. in Ritz Auditorium, located in Old Main on campus.
