Additional Scholarship Money Available Through Nonnamaker Scholarship
Thursday, February 26, 2009

Through the continued generosity of William and Marilyn Nonnamaker, The University of Findlay will offer additional scholarship funds during the next academic year.

The William ’53 and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship was established by William and his wife, Marilyn, in 1986 to be awarded annually to an incoming freshman from Hancock County who ranks in the upper third of his or her graduating class.

Recently, in conjunction with the 125th anniversary of The University of Findlay, Mr. and Mrs. Nonnamaker substantially added to the fund and revised the guidelines so that a second award would be given each year to a student in his or her sophomore, junior or senior year of study who has attained at least a 3.2 GPA.

This student must also be a graduate of a Hancock County high school.
The University is working to create 125 new endowed funds for student scholarship, faculty development and program support. Thus far, 57 new funds totaling more than $3.5 million have been created, in addition to the Nonnamaker gift.
