Buckeye Western Horse Association Establishes Scholarship

In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of The University of Findlay, the Buckeye Western Horse Association established the Buckeye Western Horse Association Scholarship in furtherance of the equine industry.
   
First preference is given to students from Hancock County who are participating and involved in the UF western equestrian studies program. Second preference is given to Hancock County students involved in equine 4-H or equine junior fair during high school, and third preference is given to Hancock County students who participated in general junior fair during high school.
   
Recipients must have at least a 2.5 G.P.A.

The goal of the endowed fund drive is to create 125 new endowed funds for student scholarship, faculty development and program support. Thus far, 63 new funds totaling more than $3 million have been created.

A steering committee consisting of University alumni and friends has been organized to provide leadership during the drive. Members of the steering committee are:
•    A.R. ’66 and Mary Ann Charnes, national co-chairs
•    Dr. Robert Frampton, College of Health Professions
•    Barbara Meyers ’63, College of Education
•    Larry McDougle ’63, College of Sciences
•    Tony Pitts ’85, Athletics
•    Dallas Sterling, School of Pharmacy
•    Jim ’63 and Karis Woodward, College of Liberal Arts
•    Denny Zahler ’70, College of Business
