Montague to Conduct Humor Writing Workshop
Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Diana Montague, Ph.D., professor of communication at The University of Findlay, will conduct a humor writing workshop from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library.

Montague teaches advanced journalism and interdisciplinary courses and is a strong proponent of experiential learning. Her specialties include journalism, popular culture and the history of mass media.

Before teaching at the University, Montague was an assistant news editor and columnist for the Winona Daily News in Winona, Minn. Her weekly column, “Through Di’s Eyes,” incorporated humor to reflect on life in a small town.

Montague received her Ph.D. in American culture studies from Bowling Green State University, where she studied the cultural impact of American television, literature and film. She has earned numerous awards for journalism and teaching.

Workshop attendees are invited to bring a piece of writing to be reviewed.

This event is free, open to the public and will be held in the library’s large meeting room. Those interested in attending may register by contacting Susan Waltermeyer at 419-422-1712.
