Findlay Partners with Owens Community College to Graduate Hospitality Management Professionals
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

The University of Findlay has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Owens Community College that will allow students to transition to the University’s hospitality management program.

Students who earn an associate’s degree in hospitality management at Owens and have met the minimum entrance requirements for UF are assured admission to the University with junior-level status in the hospitality management bachelor’s degree program.

“We are pleased to partner with Owens Community College and others who share our academic mission and wish to further enhance the educational and employment opportunities that The University of Findlay can offer beyond that of our two-year academic educational partners/programs,” said John Wolper, Ed.D., associate professor of hospitality management and chair of the business administration programs at UF.

Owens’ hospitality management technology program is offered on the Toledo-area campus.

The mission of the hospitality management program at The University of Findlay is to provide students with a career education that embodies and integrates applied management practices and theory with a strong business core and liberal arts and sciences. To fulfill its mission, the program offers a comprehensive applied management curriculum; provides students with professional work experiences and internships, state of the art laboratory and computer facilities, heightened communication skills for successful careers; and instills an understanding of social responsibility through involvement in community service.
