Mazza Museum Art on Display in Old Main Gallery

Several works of art from The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum are on display in a new art exhibit, located on the first floor of Old Main.            

Art on display includes the following:
  • Robert Quackenbush, from “The Peasant’s Pea Patch,” watercolor
  • Doug Keith, from “Things Change” by Troy Aikman, pen and ink, watercolor
  • Tedd Arnold, “Catalina Magdalena,” watercolor, pen and ink
  • Marc Brown, “Arthur’s Tooth,” pen and ink, pencil – colored, crayon
  • Kelly Oechsli, “Talkabout School,” watercolor, pen and ink
  • Lois Lenski, “A Dog Came to School,” pen and ink, watercolor, pencil – graphite
  • Tracey Campbell Pearson, “American Bookseller Fall 1984 Children’s Book,” watercolor, pen and ink
  • Kris Waldherr, “The Seal Prince,” watercolor, pencil – colored
The museum is home to a collection of original artwork by illustrators of well-loved children’s books and is the first and largest teaching museum in the world specializing in such art.

The museum’s five galleries house more than 4,000 original works of art, all of which was donated or purchased with donated funds.

The museum is permanently located in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion. Museum hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, noon-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. Admission is free. It also is open other times by appointment; call 419-434-5521.
