America’s Got Talent Stars to Perform at the University’s Homecoming Celebration Oct. 2
Thursday, September 17, 2009
 The
University will kick off Homecoming weekend with Recycled Percussion, recently
seen on America’s Got Talent. The group will perform at 8:30
p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in the parking lot in front of the Koehler Fitness and
Recreation Complex on Main Street. There is no cost to attend the performance;
community members are welcome.
Remarkable hard-rock drumming led by the world’s “fastest extreme
drummer” Justin Spencer and intoxicating hip-hop funk grooves spun by
turntablist “DJ Pharaoh” create music that is sophisticated and technical in
construction, mesmerizing in execution and a fist-pumping thrill to experience.
Recycled Percussion’s insane live performance is considered to be
the peak of on-stage percussion extremity. Performing on everything from their
signature “trash” kits — including plastic buckets, huge ladders, mortar
casings and giant 50-gallon containers — the band of two drummers, an electric
guitarist and a DJ keep the audience on their feet through 80 minutes of
spark-emitting, masterfully played power tools, plus a mind-blowing beatbox
“vocal artillery” session, backed up by chest crushing, power-driven,
sweat-drenched drumming.
The University will host a
variety of additional events for alumni throughout the weekend. Visit www.findlay.edu, Keyword: alumni, for more details.
