Scholarship Established for Nuclear Medicine Students
Monday, November 09, 2009
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive of The University of
Findlay, Ann Whithaus established the Dr. Ann Whithaus Nuclear
Medicine Institute Scholarship Endowment Fund.
Dr.
Whithaus raised her family in Findlay. As a mother and former teacher, she
believes education is important. She received her doctorate in philosophy of
education from LaSalle University.
She
established this scholarship as a result of a successful treatment experience
with nuclear medicine that was, in part, administered by graduates of The
University of Findlay’s Nuclear Medicine program.
This
scholarship is awarded to a UF degree-seeking student enrolled in the one-year
certificate program offered by the Nuclear Medicine Institute. The recipient
shall have at least a 3.0 G.P.A., have good problem-solving capabilities
and show an active interest in the profession.
The goal of
the endowed fund drive is to create 125 new endowed funds for student
scholarship, faculty development and program support. Thus far, 68 new funds
totaling more than $4 million have been created.
A steering
committee consisting of University alumni and friends has been organized to
provide leadership during the drive. Members of the steering committee are:
- A.R. ’66 and Mary Ann Charnes, national co-chairs
- Dr. Robert Frampton, College of Health
Professions
