The University of Findlay will host
hypnotist and entertainer Sailesh at 10 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in the Alumni
Memorial Union Multi-Purpose Room.
Admission is $1 at the door for community
members; UF students, faculty and staff may attend for free with a valid UF
I.D.
Sailesh
uses hypnosis, comedy, improv and music to create an interactive show that
features volunteers from the audience.
Sailesh is a certified
hypnotherapist and has been practicing hypnosis for more than 15 years. He has
astonished and amused thousands of people throughout the world.
MTV Europe
calls Sailesh the Best Hypnotist in the World. Sailesh is one of the very
few artists to have performed at all of the
National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) regional conferences and was the first hypnotist to perform
at the NACA national conference.
He has performed with Mike
Super, winner of NBC’s reality show “Phenomena,” and Judson Laipply, creator of
“Evolution of Dance.”
For each booking Sailesh gets
between August 2009 and December 2010, he will donate money to help children
get vitamin A through the
Micronutrient Initiative (MI). Ten percent of his
performance fee at UF will be donated to MI.
Children who lack vitamin A are
25-30 percent more prone to death than those who receive vitamin A. The
deficiency causes blindness in children age 1-5; 70 percent of those die within
one year of becoming blind.
Originally from the Fiji
Islands, Sailesh and his family migrated to Canada when he was a young
boy. He now resides in California with his wife and son.
Sailesh is the
founder of Metropolis Management, a talent agency dedicated to working with
one-of-a-kind entertainers.
