Those looking to strengthen communication and writing skills can enroll in The University of Findlay’s two-year master’s program to receive a master of arts in rhetoric and writing
. The University is one of only two private schools in Ohio to offer this program.
The Ohio Board of Regents approved the University’s request in January to add the master’s program; the University now offers nine master’s degree programs and two doctoral programs. The new program is designed to prepare students for advanced study in rhetoric writing or other related fields that require skilled writing ability in digital environments.
It is intended for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and have met the admission requirements. Completion of the graduate record examination (GRE) with a score of at least 500, or the equivalent, must be on file no later than after the completion of the first 12 credit hours.
The master’s of rhetoric and writing program is a 36-37 semester-credit-hour program that may be completed in two years. It includes coursework in writing theory and pedagogy, digital media and composition, language and writing, classical and contemporary rhetorical theory, digital writing research methods and topics in creative, technical and scientific writing.
