Faculty Senate Forms for Curriculum Proposals
The
Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee Proposal Form
provides guidelines which should be used in preparing a comprehensive proposal for undergraduate-level course and/or program updates at The University of Findlay. The extensiveness of the proposal should be commensurate with the size and extent of the new information and its effect and demand on The University of Findlay resources.
Prior to a proposal being submitted to the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee (FSCC) for its review and recommendation to Faculty Senate, the proposal for a course and/or program update should be approved by the academic college from which the program/course will be housed, and also any academic college upon which the proposal has a direct impact. Verification of this review should be supported by the completion of a
Curriculum Review Memorandum
from each affected college.
All proposals being submitted to the FSCC must include the
Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee Proposal Form
and the proposal in the approved Faculty Senate format (see the Faculty Manual). The syllabus attached to the proposal for a new course MUST include the four requisite elements as detailed in the Faculty Manual: course title, course description (matching catalog copy), prerequisite(s), and course objectives.
The FSCC asks that all additions to the new course catalog copy (if relevant and provided) be bolded and deletions to the old course catalog copy (if relevant and provided) be indicated with a strikethrough. For extensive changes, sponsors may also choose to include a summation of “net changes” to accompany these visual indications of the changes. Current catalog copy should be verified with
Sara Hingson
.

Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee
