Free Rice helps you to not only improve your vocabulary but it also helps you donate rice to other countries.  The vocabulary can be in math, chemistry, English, Spanish, Italian, or German.  It is a fun way to bush up on your vocabulary while helping others.  There is no cost and you don't even have to create a user name or password. Note Taking
Note Taking Styles and Formats  This is an excellent overview of five different methods of note taking.  They include the Cornell method, the outline method, the mapping method, the charting methods, and the sentence method.  Because students are different and so are the professors who lecture, it is good to realize that one method is not necessarily appropriate for all classes.

Reading Strategies
Reading Strategies   There is much more to reading than just having your eyes pass over the words.  The above link provides two very effective reading strategies.  The SQ3R is used when your reading material is difficult and the PRR or P2R is used for easier reading material.  By taking the time to use these strategies, you will actually spend less time reading and learning the material.
