Family Weekend

Parents and families, we invite you to join us for Family Weekend 2008! This is a wonderful time to enjoy the UF Oiler experience as a family -- whether your student is a freshman or a senior.

Friday, Sept. 26, 2008
REGISTRATION
Time:  7:30 a.m. - noon
Location:  Alumni Memorial Union (Atrium)

Schedules of classes and other campus events, information on the City of Findlay area, and light refreshments. Please stop by for registration, information and hospitality.

ATTEND CLASS WITH YOUR UF STUDENT
All Day

FAMILY PICNIC
Time:  11:30 a.m. -1 p.m.
Location:  lawn area west of Henderson Dining Hall

Meet and mingle with other UF families as well as faculty, staff and students.

UF SPORTING EVENTS
2 p.m.
Men’s UF Soccer vs. Ohio Valley – DeHaven Field
4:30 p.m.
Women’s Soccer  vs. Grand Valley State – DeHaven Field
7:30 p.m.
Women’s UF Volleyball vs. Michigan Tech University – Croy Gymnasium

HAYRIDES AND BONFIRE
Time:  8:30-10:30 p.m.

Location:  Western Farm
Snacks: S’mores at the bonfire and apple cider

CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST

Time:  9:30-11 a.m.
Location:  Alumni Memorial Union – Multi Purpose Room

"A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A UF STUDENT: PANELISTS"
How well has your son or daughter made the transition from high school to college? University faculty, staff and a UF student will offer their insights into what your son or daughter may have experienced and any concerns that have surfaced in the first month of a UF student. Parents also have the opportunity to ask questions about topics such as the impact of mid-semester grades, the need for tutorial assistance, homesickness, social pressures, and time management. 

FAMILY PICNIC, EQUESTRIAN FESTIVAL & MINI JUMPING PRIX    
Time:  11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

ocation:  James L. Child, Jr. Equestrian Complex, 11178 C.R. 201
Families are invited to enjoy a picnic while watching a combined dressage and reining horse performance and a performance by the English and Western Drill Team. The final round of the Mini Jumping Prix will start at 2:00 p.m.  Children will enjoy the clown, face painting and pony rides.

Time:  7 p.m.
Location:  Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex
Ticket prices:
$30 for the pink numbers
$20 for the green numbers

WORSHIP SERVICES
College First Church of God, 1100 North Main Street (located on the campus)  – Worship services offer an exciting and meaningful experience for all who attend.  Currently three opportunities exist for Sunday morning worship at the main church building. Worship times are 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.  Nursery care is available at all three services while Toddler Church for children ages 2 1/2 - 5 years-old and Junior Church for children in grades K-5 is offered at the 11:00 a.m. service.
