Academic Technology Services (ATS) did a review of leading, add-on chat tools during the summer of 2006. A pilot of the two products promising to be the best fit for UF was then facilitated through ATS.  After receiving feedback from faculty and relevant areas, we decided Elluminate provided UF with the best tools to advance synchronous chat sessions within Blackboard. It was determined that Elluminate's features assisted in providing our students with a positive, incredibly interactive learning environment.

At the start of the Fall Semester 2007, Elluminate was released campus-wide and made available in every Blackboard course and organization.
