Frequently Asked Questions

When is my bill due?
Payment is expected in full one week prior to the first day of classes.  If the balance is not paid in full, you must participate in an official payment plan. 

What is the general service fee?
The general service fee is used to maintain facilities on campus.

What is the student activity fee?
The student activity fee goes to Student Government and not to the University. They use it for various activities sponsored by them and other sources.

Why was I billed for student health insurance?
The University of Findlay provides a student health plan for undergraduate students carrying 12 or more credit hours. You may opt out of the plan by signing a waiver card if you meet the timing requirements.

When can I request a refund on my student account?
If refund requirements have been met, students can begin to request refunds one week before the session begins. Funds will not be released by the University, however, until the first Friday after the session starts.  When students receive the funds is contingent upon their Oiler One Card refund preference (www.OilerOneCard.com).

Why is there a Business Office Hold on my account?
In order for a student to register for classes, his/her financial obligation to the University must be current. If you have a Business Office Hold, you will need to pay your account, or be up-to-date on an official payment plan before you will be permitted to register.
