Don’t just throw it away…RECYCLE!!!
On Friday, September 14th, you might have been alarmed by the trash on campus.  But fear not, the trash you might have seen behind N. Cory Street was not trash at all.  It was the campus wide effort to promote recycling on campus sponsored by the Campus Compact Center for Service and Learning. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., representatives from the Campus Compact office sat outside to collect recyclables and take a survey on who recycles.
Over forty faculty, staff, and students recycled to show their respect for the earth.  Twenty four offices on campus filled the Litter Landing Mobile Recycling Unit with paper, cardboard, and bottles that they had saved.  Megan Schroeder, the graduate assistant of the Campus Compact office, stated, “I was impressed by the number of campus offices that informed us that they bring their recycling each month. I hope that by sitting by the bin it helped make other students, staff, and faculty more aware of the opportunity to recycle each month.”
If you missed your chance to recycle in September, do not worry.  The Recycling Unit will be back behind 1102 and 1104 N. Cory Street once a month.  Start saving now!  We collect office paper, magazines, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, steel cans, and aluminum. Please remember to break down cardboard boxes when you recycle.
