Educational Technology: Enhancing Learning with Mobile Technologies
Today almost everyone has a mobile phone/device however, many instructors on campus implement a strict no cell phone policy for the classroom.  But what if we turned these technologies into tools used for learning?  Could they be used to actively engage students and enhance learning in the classroom?  In this workshop we will share several tools that can be used to turn mobile technologies into practical classroom tools.

Educational Technology: eReaders for Education

Electronic Readers, commonly referred as eReaders, have been the topic of talk for several months.  In this session we will talk about the advantages of using eReaders in the classroom.  We will share information about the different eReaders that are available today.  We will also discuss how these new tools can be used in a classroom.

Educational Technology: Polyvision Board
This is an introduction to the Polyvision Board or what is commonly referred to as an interactive whiteboard. In this session the Polyvision Board’s features, functionality and basic classroom uses will be demonstrated. Advanced sessions will be scheduled as a one-on-one session to help meet specific needs. This workshop is located in the Student Technology Center.

Using GIS Software in Teaching: Work Session

Come explore in a work session how GIS software (such as GoogleEarth and ArcExplorer) can be used in your classes to enhance learning experiences by the use of this exciting new software. Ideas will be explored and plans will be developed on how to make it happen.

Case Studies

Developing a Blended/Hybrid Course
What is a blended or hybrid course? Blended learning can be considered a hybrid course that includes some of the conveniences of online courses without the complete loss of face-to-face contact. UF blended course examples will be provided with follow-up discussion and course-building ideas.
